Influencer is one of those films that based on its name and premise that you might just shy away from because social media can be gimmicky, and most of us already have enough social media in our lives.
To my surprise, Influencer is an effective thriller, with characters that we’re all familiar with if you’ve spent any amount of the time on social media. As a modern horror film, the use of social media was cleverly executed, and everything feels fairly realistic, given the capabilities of today’s technology.
What really stands out about this film is the breathtaking shots out on the water and the modern architecture of the homes they’re staying in.
The pacing in Influencer is another standout, with the plot constantly shifting and no time feeling wasted. This Shudder original keeps you engaged from start to finish, making it a film worth checking out.
