Reasons to Watch
This movie is a must-watch for anyone who thinks no more original horror films are being made. The failing 1970s late-night talk show setting is a unique and effective backdrop for horror.
As the film progresses, the host becomes increasingly desperate, and uncomfortable events unfold, making both the host and crew uneasy. It’s this escalation of desperation that really makes the horror in this film effective. It’s as if you can feel that sh*t is really about to hit the fan; you just don’t know how.
Theres also some laughs to be had here. The film’s early portions feature plenty of campy 1970s comedy that immerses the viewer in the late-night talk show atmosphere of the era.
Having a supernatural skeptic in the film was also a nice touch. Most people are skeptical of mind reading and possessions and believe these things can be explained away, but this is a horror movie, and skeptics are often proven wrong. Keep up the good work, David Dastmalchian.
