Moon Garden is a film with a lot to say, but it can sometimes be difficult to follow because you have been sucked into the imagination of a little girl, and it’s incredible to see.
I’ve never seen stop-motion and practical effects blended so well in a film. It’s impressive how they use these insane dream-like backdrops and creepy characters to symobilize the little girl’s trauma.
Unfortunately, some of the symbolism was a little all over the place, making the movie hard to follow at times. The acting is also a bit questionable, but the visuals are so incredible that it’s worth a watch. You will likely need to watch this one a few times to catch everything.
